I love combining all my favorite things in one complete picture, literally. This is the latest wall-hanging I made. The flowers and stems are machine applique. The flower dots are two and three layers. When I finished I realized that it wasn't quite right, so I got out my watercolors. I concentrated on the stems and centers of the flower. I also left the leaves unattached and curved them to add a dimensional effect. I love the look and can't wait to try applique and painting again!

More to Come
I am sooooo excited to be purchasing an embroidery machine with the tax return this year. I have already started cutting fabric and making napkins and place mats. I can't wait to get started. It seems like things are finally starting to come together. Now the test is going to be to maintain the momentum without burn out. I look forward to more Blogging, more Etsy, more Craftsy and lots of creative fun!!

Purple Baby Churn Dash
I made this quilt for my cousins baby girl. I should get it in the mail before the baby comes. (Sorry, Thea) I used a Churn Dash Variation. One of my first quilts I tried to make 10 years ago was this pattern. I sure have learned alot since then. I really think this baby quilt turned out beautifully!

Christmas is in the Air
I know fall is coming up next, but I have had soo much fun creating patterns for and making Christmas Decor. So far I have made (and written the patterns for) a Tree Skirt and a Table Topper. Still to come are three Stockings and possibly some Ornaments or Tree Topper Star. I haven't quite decided yet. I am very glad I am getting this stuff made now instead of waiting until Christmas when I would feel rushed. This gives me enough time to start on Halloween costumes and Christmas Presents.

Time
I wish I had more time...between taking my daughter to her activities, taking care of my hubby, taking care of my sick mom and trying to maintain a semi-clean and organized home life, I am swamped. I just spent 2 hours cleaning my house and had to take a break. I wish I just spent two hours quilting. I'm getting pretty good with my Flynn Quilting Frame. I am getting faster and more accurate. I am learning exactly when to roll and how far. I have even gotten to the point I can roll is just minutes! I am learning exactly how little movement it takes to create pretty pictures. I finished quilting the Fall quilt and am working on the frame-free-motion center panel. I'm glad I started learning on a quilt I don't really care about because I am making lots of mistakes and it is nice to not feel like I have to unpick the flaws. I just got started on a Neapolitan Quilt I made 2 years ago that I tied. The ties were coming undone and it is one of my everyday-use quilts so I decided to try it next. I am using a Leaf and Swirl edge to edge design. I like doing this a whole lot better than Meander design, but I am having some issues keeping the size of the leaves consistent across the length of the quilt. The leaves tend to be smaller towards the outside edges and larger in the middle. I'll get it...eventually. See, now I have even less time....I just spent 20 minutes writing this and trying to get a pic to upload from my e-mail. Aaaaahhhhh, better go cook dinner, we are having Beef Enchiladas tonight.
